here is a character who will appear later on in Breaking Spring. her name is Tarana, meaning 'music' in Hawaii.

Tarana is a the lead singer and guitarist in a punk-rock band called 'Moon-Child'. her band members consists of people she met overseas. Tarana and her band flew in from America to perform at her hometown to promote the preliminaries to the International Surf Competition. through her adventures back home, Tarana slowly becomes interested in surfing.

unfortunately, that is all i can say for her story. i havent been able to decide how i want to expand it yet, but i want it to be more than something along the lines of 'self-promotion' or 'getting her name out'. i want it to be more personal to her; perhaps a personal opinion or view on the world or people around her.

Note: as a little tidbit i forgot to mention, Tarana is my homage to Tsukiko Amano, a Japanese guitarist and singer who recently retired from her solo career. she was famous for providing the songs to the Fatal Frame series. Tarana's band, 'Moon-Child' is actually a name of one of Tsukiko's songs as well as the literal translation of Tsukiko's name [Tsuki = moon, Ko = child]. throughout the story, Tarana would be singing lines from the english lyrics to Tsukiko's songs.
